What is backcountry fishing?
A typical backcountry fishing trip will take you into the Everglades National Park. We will fish shallow flats, mangrove islands and deep sloughs searching for Snook, Redfish, Trout and Tarpon.
Can you eat tarpon fish?
No. Tarpon are catch and release only.
What is tarpon fishing like?
We float live crabs or mullet around the many bridges in Islamorada or sight cast with artificial baits at rolling and tailing Tarpon.
How to fish for snook in florida?
We either use live bait (shrimp or pilchards) on a float or cast soft plastic artificial baits.
How to catch permit fish?
The Permit….this is a tough one! We will quietly slip through the flats looking for tailing fish. A well placed live crab will trigger a bite followed by powerful runs that have made this fish famous.
Are permit fish edible?
Yes! However we catch and release only on these beauties.
